SHPOPL incollaboration with LITOS, Germany has successfully hosted Deformity Correction Course in Cairo during the ASAMI meet. The course had eminent faculty namely Mr. Dr. Klaus Seide from Germany and Dr. Mangal Parihar from India. The focus was Six Axis Computer Aided Deformity Correction Programme with HEXAPOD system designed and developed by LITOS, Germany.

The course module covered the basics of Deformity Correction by using HEXAPOD. The surgeons were exposed to software based correction technique by using X rays for deformities followed by Workshop on various bone deformities. Such exhaustive hands on bone module training has been useful for surgeons to understand Deformity Correction techniques.

The Workshop was attended by 40 eminent orthopedic surgeons from various countries like Egypt, India, Korea, Japan, Italy and Jordan. The entire course was well appreciated by those who attended and by the President of ASAMI Prof. Dr. Gamal Hosny.

# SHPOPL conducts such course in memory of Late Shri H.D. Pitkar, who founded SHPOPL& was known and respected for his contribution to Orthopedic implant manufacturing in India in as early as 1960.
